iPhone review

A quick review of my experience with the iPhone.
With few exceptions this device is truly amazing in nearly everything it does. If you want a phone that does email and the web then this is likely your phone. This device has improved my on the road productivity.
Ups
- Web Browser works great on most web sites. A lack of Flash support occasionally is an issue.
- Email works great. I check 3 different accounts and it integrates well
- Youtube works great. Uses H.264 rather then Flash’s H.263 for actually better quality then on a normal PC or Mac.
- I like the virtual keyboard, after you get use to it. Nothing to fold out and maximizes screen space when possible.
- Integration with Mac Address Book, bookmarks, music, and videos is great.
- If you do lots of voice mail then the “Visual” voice mail is the best.
Downs
- Edge not the fastest. I find it is fast enough for me 90% of the time.
- Some issues with syncing photos. I use Aperture and it will not sync some albums and sometimes forgets which ones I have selected.
- Apples Stalinist approach with 3rd party lock outs.
- OK to use as a phone. Be careful not to touch screen while talking.
- Only AT&T. Yes others are trying to unlock but it is not an easy road.
Conclusion
A break through device in terms of the design and features. If you often carry an iPod, surf and check email on the go, and like elegant design then this is your phone.
